The Criteria Commission for the eco-INSTITUT label certification system has revised and updated the testing criteria, taking into account current developments as well as external requirements and comments. The criteria have been published and are applicable with immediate effect.

Ownership of the “eco-INSTITUT-Label” certification program will be transferred to LCPO GmbH (Labeling and Certification Program Organization), based in Cologne. eco-INSTITUT Germany GmbH will remain the certification body and thus the independent inspection institution responsible for regularly verifying compliance with the testing criteria and for executing the certification procedures.

eco-INSTITUT-Label is an approved certification system and proof of compliance with the emission requirements of SINTEF Norway's Environmental Requirements.

Products that have been certified according to the criteria of the eco-INSTITUT-Label are thoroughly tested by eco-INSTITUT for emissions and hazardous substances. Nevertheless, advertising claims in connection with these products such as ‘free of hazardous substances’ or ‘suitable for use by people with allergies’ are misleading and therefore not...

Since mid-May 2025, Toptex (Thailand) Co. Ltd. has joined the family of eco-INSTITUT-Labelled products with a latex mattress core.
